Weddings at Elberon Memorial Church

An aisle 140 years in the making

All faiths, all couples, all welcome — in one of the Jersey Shore's most storied sanctuaries.

The Setting

Vows beneath Tiffany-tradition glass

Hundreds of couples have been married at Elberon Memorial Church since 1886. Attributed to Stanford White and filled with stained glass experts call the finest of its style in the country, the church offers a ceremony setting no ballroom can imitate: morning light through a rose window, hand-carved pews, and the deep voice of a 19th-century pipe organ.

We are a nondenominational church. Couples of every faith — or none — marry here, with the clergyperson or celebrant of their choosing.

Good to Know

Questions couples ask

When can we hold our ceremony?+

Weddings are celebrated April through October. The sanctuary is a true 19th-century summer church — without heating or air conditioning — which is exactly why the light and sea air are so lovely in season.

How far in advance should we book?+

Reservations are accepted up to a year or more in advance. Summer and early-fall Saturdays are the first to go — if you have a date in mind, start your reservation early.

How do we reserve a date?+

Submit the booking form with your preferred date and time. An $800 non-refundable church rental fee, payable to Elberon Memorial Church, secures your reservation. Once a date and time are set, changes require prior approval.

What about music?+

Our organist can play the historic Roosevelt organ for your ceremony (fee separate), or you may bring your own musicians. Many couples do both.

Are there other fees?+

Yes. Beyond the $800 church rental fee, the organist fee is $400 and the sexton fee is $300. Weddings with more than 50 guests add $150. Our coordinator will confirm the full total when you inquire.

Can we hold a christening, vow renewal, or memorial here?+

Yes — the church hosts christenings, showers, vow renewals, ministerial meetings, and funerals. Use the booking form or call us to arrange.
